Between supermarket shelves and shiny advertising promises, many women live under the illusion of having a “safe choice.”
We buy what we think is best, trust the glossy words, and reassure ourselves that whatever is marketed to us… is studied and guaranteed.
But how often do we ask:
What do we really know about the products that touch our bodies?
Is transparency the norm, or just an exception?
In the world of feminine health care, it’s not enough for a product to be beautifully packaged.
It must be honest, clear, clean… and responsible.
This article isn’t just about sharing information.
It’s a call to open our eyes,
To know what we are using.
To choose consciously, not blindly.
Where’s the Transparency?
Sanitary pads are used directly on our bodies, for long hours each month… yet they lack the most basic right: for us to know what they contain.
Imagine this:
Sanitary pads are not classified as medical products.
This means they are not legally required to disclose their ingredients — not here, not even in countries like the U.S. or Europe.
The result?
Products that touch the most sensitive areas of the body without us knowing if they contain:
🔹 Pesticide residues
🔹 Chlorine-bleached materials
🔹 Synthetic fragrances or plastics
And all of this goes unlisted.
So, What’s the Problem?
A study published by British organizations (WEN and PAN UK) found glyphosate pesticide in some tampons — at levels 40 times higher than what’s allowed in drinking water.
This pesticide is classified as “likely carcinogenic to humans.”
And the scary part?
No authority forces companies to disclose this to consumers.
The Marketing Phrases… That Mean Nothing
Many conventional pads are sold with soft, comforting phrases — but when we dig into what they really mean, we find nothing more than pretty words with no real substance.
Common examples:
🔹 “Natural cotton feel” → Often just synthetic fibers (like polyester or rayon), with no actual cotton.
🔹 “Superior protection” or “All-day comfort” → Vague claims that don’t explain how or with what ingredients.
🔹 “Approved by gynecologists” → Without naming any authority or showing the list of approved ingredients, it’s just a trust-building slogan.
🔹 “Fragrance-free” → Sometimes replaced with “deodorizers” or “natural aromatic components,” without clarifying their source or potential irritants.
The issue:
These phrases create a false sense of safety, while hiding the details that matter most.
Our Position at C
-
We clearly list our ingredients.
-
We use only GOTS-certified organic cotton.
-
Free from anything that could harm the body or mislead the reader.
-
For us, transparency is not an option — it’s the standard.
Transparency isn’t an added feature.
It’s a right.
And we believe every woman deserves to know what’s inside the product she uses on her body.
